Description

The Ring Nebula (also catalogued as Messier 57, M57 and NGC 6720) is a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Lyra. Such a nebula is formed when a star, during the last stages of its evolution before becoming a white dwarf, expels a vast luminous envelope of ionized gas into the surrounding interstellar space.

That thingy is small, I had to drizzle to make some details visible. I also decided to take relatively long exposures and a lot of them for such a bright target. I then selected only about one third of the subs for stacking increase the amount of details visible.

Also I did not want to crop everything away so you have to click the full resolution button to see details of the nebula.
