Description

This faint planetary nebula is located 6000 light years away in the constellation of Cepheus at a declination of +57 degrees.  It is a magnitude 17 PN that spans 1.4 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which means that it has a diameter of 2.4 light years.  I could find no documentation on this interesting object.

Like many PN, the outer rim is stronger in HII while the inner section is stronger in OIII. The PN is a bit distorted, as if there is a mechanism causing some rotation of the overall system.  I like the internal structure, where it looks like there are 2 point symmetric lobes of HII intruding upon the central region.

I see a very faint smudge in the center of the PN which could be the progenitor.  Or maybe I just need to clean my monitor.
