Description

Brocchi's Cluster (also known as Collinder 399, Cr 399 or Al Sufi's Cluster) is a random grouping of stars located in the constellation Vulpecula near the border with Sagitta. The members of the star cluster form an asterism which has given rise to its name as the Coathanger. - Wikipedia.

Found in the Vulpecula constellation, this is a sparse, open cluster nearly 2º wide. One of the stars in the 'hook' is an orange color while the majority are blue.

This image was captured in August of 2020 and I'm just now getting around to processing it. There's a lot more that could be done with this image to enhance the surrounding gases, but my skill with PixInsight is not there yet.

Workflow:
WBPP2
Crop
PCC
DBE
BGN
HistoT
Curves - to saturate colors
SCNR
Curves - to reduce red cast
