Description

My first capture of the M27 Dumbbell Nebula with 8" newtonian. I did LRGB at first night, but then realized HOO gave much better result to reveal the astonishing emission nebulosity. M27 is a planetary nebula at a distance of about 1360 ly, and it was the first such nebula to be discovered by Charles Messier in 1764. I think one of the reasons for its first discovery was due to the brightness of it, at magnitude 7.5, so bright that my edit has to involve kind of HDR processing to prevent the center from overexposed while reveal the outer nebulosity
