Description

This object is a dark nebula located in the constellation of Vulpecula at a declination of +24 degrees. The nebula spans 40 arc-minutes in our apparent view. Like many dark nebula, I could not find any information on this object.

I like the shape of this nebula and how it stands out from the star field. I am surprised and happy that it hasn't yet been given a stupid nickname, at least none that I am aware of.

The objects in this image are either colorful stars or deep dusk dust, with the exception of the reflection nebula GN 19.24.6 which is seen surrounding a bright white variable star (PX Vulpecula) at lower left. This star is a T Tauri class star, which is a class of young variable stars (less than ten million years old).
