Description

NGC-7635, also known as The Bubble Nebula is an H II region emission nebula in the constellation of Cassiopiea. It is just 35 arc minutes distant in the sky from the open star cluster M-52. The "bubble" in this nebula is created by the stellar wind from a massive hot 8.7 magnitude young star, SAO 20575. The bubble is near a giant molecular cloud which contains the expansion of the bubble nebula, while itself being excited by the same hot star, causing it to glow. This complex was discovered in 1787 by Sir William Herschel. It lies at a distance of 7100 light years from Earth.
