Description

It's been a while since I posted my last picture. Although I have captured many hours of new material, I somehow didn't have the right desire to process them, but instead observed and enjoyed the starry sky visually more often. Besides all the great images that are shown here every day on AstroBin, I can still recommend visual astronomy: Seeing the light directly with your own eyes has its charm.

So, enough of the long foreword. The joy of image processing has caught up with me again the last few days and I'm now looking forward to finally catching up on the data of the last nine months. So there will be some new stuff from me in the next weeks.

I also sold my CCD cameras and bought an ASI 6200 with a two inch filter wheel and a complete set of Astronomik filters. The raw images of the 6200 are mindblowing! Easy to calibrate, the quality of the stacks is at a new level of excellence for me.

I picked IC 5068 as the firstlight of the full-frame camera: A deeply structured nebula cloud in Cygnus, directly adjacent to the North America and Pelican Nebula. More to come...
