Description

The Dumbbell Nebula (also known as the Apple Core Nebula, Messier 27, and NGC 6853) is a planetary nebulae (nebulosity surrounding a white dwarf) in the constellation of Vulpecula at a distance of about 1360 light-years. It was the first such nebula to be discovered, by Charles Messier in 1764. At its brightness of Visual magnitude 7.5 and diameter of about 8 arcminutes, it is easily visible in binoculars and is a popular observing target in amateur telescopes.

I photographed this object with the ZWO ASIair Pro from my driveway in Perkasie, PA under heavily light polluted area. Bortle scale here is at 5.5. I used my narrowband filters.

I’m still learning to gather the data and process it in PixInsight. I think I’m doing ok, considering that I have very little experience but I am getting better at it, but I'm getting there... Colors are not perfect but I thing it looks pretty good. I am finally starting to understand PixInsight. I still have a long ways to go but I think I am doing really well.
