Description

I used to do a lot of lunar imaging, but that was around 2008.  I had probably taken my last lunar image around 2009.  In those days I used a Mewlon 250 or sometimes a C9.25 with a webcam and stacked in Registax.  In more  recent years I became a deep sky imager and use refractors.  Last night, for whatever reason, I decided to take a couple of lunar images with my Esprit 120 and ZWO ASI120MM mini. The weather was cool and misty with tremendous dew accumulation throughout the entire night. The atmosphere was misty, almost foggy and the moon was visible as through a haze.  No matter, I wanted to see if I could still get some sort of image.  The result on the Aristarchus Plateau is shown below compared with one I'd taken in 2008.  Time certainly moved on, but even with better stacking programs today a Mewlon 250 still beats an Esprit 120
