Description

Seems simple enough:  2.5 hours Ha, 2.5 hours of luminance, an hour each of blue and green...but only 45 minutes of red...mostly because this should-have-been-straightforward project took nearly two months to complete caputure. Cloud, cloud and more cloud--not going to complain, it is winter after all.

I tried numerous methods of adding the Ha, trying to get a result that wasn't overbearing and I think I have a reasonable result. I settled on the result from a continuum subtraction method for the Ha-RGB combination, using a starless version of the continuumHa result. This seemed to save the background and didn't affect the stars, of course. My attempt at adding luminance sort of overpowered the colour of the galaxies, so I backed off a bit on the stretch of L and got something I could work with a bit better for colour. Overall still pretty noisy, but between BXT and NXT, it isn't too bad. Way better than my first attempt at M106 about 4 years gone now.
