Description

Full resolution Mosaic of the Moon through the old Unitron 142 75mm f16 refractor from 1971. Combined 32 tiles to make this. Who said you can’t do imaging through an achromat 😉 

This is probably the most detailed shot ever taken of the moon through that instrument. But even with that, the view through the eyepiece is much sharper!

Geek details:
The main camera was a cheap $15 webcam which I converted to use as a digital eyepiece! Philips SPC900NC.

32 tiles made up of a stack of the best 200 of 500 frames each. 

Not sure if I should print this one out and hang it. My other scopes can do much better than this, but I think I gave the old scope justice.
