Description

I observed this object on 4 January 2014 at Havelock North, New Zealand with an Explore Scientific ED80 refractor. My description consisted of a single word: Smudge.

I obtained the frames used to create the image from SkyGems. The frames were imaged by the Hakos iDK 20” Telescope at the SkyGems Namibia Remote Observatory.

NGC 4833 is about 2 Gyr younger than other GCs.

Shapley Sawyer Classification: VIII
Distance: 21,529 LY
Type: Halo Globular
Position w.r.t. core of galaxy: Below the disc of the MY on the sun side of the core.
Any stars resolved: No
Undergoing Core Collapse: No
