Description

Exoplanet Transit - WASP-11 b.

Star - WASP-11, V or Gaia mag 11.6.  Approximately 424 light-years (130 pc).

Telescope - Celestron EdgeHD 11"
Camera - ASI6200mm Pro
Mount - Astro-Physics Mach2GTO (guided)

Transit Finder - https://astro.swarthmore.edu/transits/

Data collected Jan 29, 2024.  102x120s Luminance images.  Duration of transit - 154 minutes.

Left is plot generated with NASA's EXOTIC-3.3.0 using aligned .fit images.  Right is plot generated with AstroImageJ-5.3.2.00 using .fits light, dark, flat, and bias frames.

From NASA - "WASP-11 b is a gas giant exoplanet that orbits a K-type star. Its mass is 0.79 Jupiters, it takes 3.7 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.0435 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2008."

Note - I previously posted WASP-11 b using data collected on October 28, 2023.  I decided to repeat the procedure in order to check if my results were repeatable.  The major difference is that for October 28, 2023 the ASI6200mm Pro gain was set to 0, and for January 29, 2024 the ASI6200mm Pro gain was set to 100.  With gain 0 the max ADU was roughly 16000, while with gain 100 the max ADU was roughly 55000!.  Of course, the seeing conditions and temperatures may also have contributed.
