Description

A lucky imaging trial of M53 - a nice 7m globular cluster in Coma Berenices.

1800x 1s exposures yielded a nice FWHM of 2.5" (about 2x lower than what I usually get in my crappy skies). But I seem to have very weird spacing issues with my reducer which surprised me. It looks a bit like going to warp-speed.

UPDATE: No spacing issues, my stacking went wrong and produced the distortions. Learnt a good lesson. New revision is a lot better now.

Description: re-stacked to fix artifacts in first revision (lesson learnt: PI is not good at stacking 1s exposures; I created 90s pseudo-subs (90% of 100s) in AS!3 and stacked those in PI)
