Description

I think if we ever create a multi galactic federation, that Messier 81, Bodes Galaxy, should be home base!  Such an almost perfect example of a grand design galaxy!  Not so much its neighbor, Messier 82, the Cigar Galaxy!  I have always loved these two interacting galaxies.  Great examples of perfection, and, well, not perfection!  Then off in the distance is NGC 3077.  This is also an interacting galaxy with the other two. Hubble discovered that this disrupted galaxy, which was thought to be very quiet, actually has a large amount of star forming activity.  This is thought to be caused by the interaction between these three galaxies.  An amazing cosmic dance!  Clear Skies
Mark
