Description

Imaged Venus on the evening of May 31, 2023 (6/1 in UTC).  Venus had a diameter of 22.6" and was 51.7% illuminated.  Seeing was reasonable so I took some images using a BG39+W47 filter combination to compare to my UV filter images.  Much more contrast with the UV filter, but perhaps a hint of the cloud structure using the BG39+W47.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, Astrodon Johnson/Cousins Photometric UV and Baader IR 685nm pass filters, and ZWO ASI174MM. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20 (FL=4000 mm). Image capture using Firecapture with the following gain/exposure settings:  UV: g=375, 10ms; IR:  g=250, 0.9 ms .  Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 5% of 20000 frames captured over ~180 seconds). De-rotated images in WinJupos.  Generated false RGB in WinJupos (R=IR, no green, B=UV).

Original version:  Compilation of IR, UV, and IR/UV images
