Description

You have probably already realized that this was a difficult object to image.  Let's just say I am pretty sure that this is the first time that Barnard 19 is the center of attention in an image.

This image shows a series of dark nebulae located in the constellation of Taurus at a declination of +26 degrees.  At left is Barnard 22, at center is Barnard 19, and at right are Barnard 217/218, all from Barnard's Dark Nebula Collection.

Barnard 19 is one of the fainter and least impressive of the Barnard objects, which is saying quite a bit.
