Description

A friend of mine and me spend an evening in the Swiss Mountains about an hour from Zurich. It was decently dark and during the new moon phase which allowed us to collect about 4hours of unfiltered RGB images at f/2 with the mighty Samyang 135mm. My longterm project would be to add Ha and OIII-data using the Optolong L-Extreme once the clouds dissapear again. I was so happy to see the dust around Andromeda coming out during processing.

Title: M31 in HaRGB

Description: I could collect about 4 hours of L-Extreme data and extract the H-Alpha from M31. By applying continuum subtraction from the H-Alpha data, I could add faint H-Alpha nebulae to the existing M31 RGB data. It is crazy to think that those red spots are 2.5 Million year old, intergalactic nebulae from a distant galaxy. I was also pleased to see that some background H-alpha popped out even though 4 hours at f/2 is still not enough integration.
