Description

Another clear night around full moon . Anyway, seeing was good and therefore I concentrated on the Southwest of the moon. The image stretches from Schickard in the Southwest to Reiner in the West. The image features some Rimae which I annotated in version B.

Also interesting, as I was reading about it in a recent edition of the German astromagazine "Astronomie", there are two so called "red spots". These red spots represent smaller zones of vulcanic activity. They have a high albedo and reflect red light very well. The "arrow head" is close to Hansteen and is sometimnes also called Mons Hansteen. The other area is called Helm in German, meaning helmet, I could not find an English name for it. Please check annotated revision B.

As the ROI was quite large I could only capture around 1000 frames, and used the best 10%. I used the red filter to improve seeing.

Hope you enjoy

Volker
