Hello all,, My name is Markus, I live in Austria (federal state of Upper Austria) and have been doing astrophotography since 2011. I started with it at a local observatory (Observatory Gahberg), where I was helped a lot as a beginner. After some time there I built together with a friend a roll-off-roof observatory with two rooms for the telescopes. But because the weather in Upper Austria is mixed and there are always long bad weather phases, I built a remote observatory in Southern France in 2017. There it is one of six observatories, the network is called ROSA (remote observatory southern alps). I do imaging with a 10" f/4 Newton, with a SX Trius 694 CCD. In parallel I use a TAK Epsilon 130ED and a QHY 163m. My favourite targets are rarely photographed objects, and I am involved in the TBG project (TBG = long exposed galaxies in German). There we are engaged in finding dwarf galaxies and stellar streams. "On the side" I work on the CEDIC (Central European Deepsky Imaging Conference), and occasionally I take asto trips south with friends. Markus |
