YES!!
I found out my default guide rate is is "0.5x sidereal"
it had nothing to do with the slew rate, which I was talking about before

interesting.
so I did:
2 x 0.82 [arcsec per pixel resolution] = 1.64
1.64 / 15 [sidereal rate] x 0.5 [guide rate] = 0.054
1000 x 0.054 = 54
Does that sound right? Just 54ms calibration step size?

if that's correct, that still doesn't tell me what max RA and DEC duration to use
is there another equation for that?

Concerning your questions:
interesting.
so I did:
2 x 0.82 [arcsec per pixel resolution] = 1.64
1.64 / 15 [sidereal rate] x 0.5 [guide rate] = 0.054
1000 x 0.054 = 54
Does that sound right? Just 54ms calibration step size?
You forgot the brackets, so it's (2 * 0.82) / [b]([/b]15 * 0.5[b])[/b] * 1000 = 218 ms.
if that's correct, that still doesn't tell me what max RA and DEC duration to use
is there another equation for that? You shouldn't really have to change that, just set it to default or about 2000-2500ms. It was mentioned here, I recommend reading it: https://eastwindastro.blogspot.com/2021/02/ |
