I am planning on putting together a short presentation on the subject of differential flexure, to hopefully form part of the March AIG meeting.

I wondered if anybody has any experience on this subject, and/or has anything they would like to see discussed. All thoughts and contributions will be gratefully received!

At the moment my plan is for the presentation to cover the following :-

1. What is differential flexure?

2. Ideas on how to measure it.

3. Some of the more common causes.

4. Some possible remedial measures.

Please reply in this forum topic if you have anything to add, or any comments!

Happy imaging in the meantime.

Hi Tim
I Did suffer with it for a time using a guidescope on a pair of rings and three point screw fittings.
You need a really solid fixing method.
Going to OAG removed that issue

Cheers

Hi Martin.

Thanks for that feedback. I guess an OAG is often a good idea. But not feasible with all equipment setups. I'm actually using the "rings and three screws" arrangement to CURE the flexure in my system. That confirms that I'm odd I think!!

Many thanks for taking the sad face away from this forum subject - that was starting to make me feel sad!!!!

Hope you have been collecting some good data lately.
