Description

The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the a much larger ionized gas region known as IC 1396, located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light years away from Earth.

The first time I've imaged and combined data taken over multiple nights, this was 4hr 50mins integration time shot over three consecutive nights.

I found managing calibration frames to be quite tricky, more specifically taking suitable Darks. I ended up taking a set of darks on a cloudy night and using them to calibrate the data shot on all three nights, they were taken 4/5 degrees warmer than the lights but I think they did a good enough job.
