Description

Truthfully, I bit off more than I could chew with this one!! Unlike Messier 82, this object has a lot finer and fainter immediate detail, so to be able to image it under these bright conditions was much more difficult. The gradients were very tough, but I am posting it because, whilst I would have liked more, and I am not entirely happy with it, I am pleased that I got from it what I did. It took many revisions. This was 7 hours and 12 minutes worth of imaging time, through the Cassegrain. [Out of interest, I think it would be easier to name this M82 and the other one M81 because of their respective galactic shapes, which would mean I would not confuse them so easily... or is it just me - probably!] Have a good night everyone...
