Description

I clearly remember the first time I saw the SMC (and LMC) in my first trip in South Africa, I was gazing at them under a dark sky with open mouth.
In that time I didn't have a tracker, so I had to take just a memory photo.
But, past august, I went back to SA with a star tracker and I was able to shoot better this glorious jewel; it was a must-see and one of my goals in this trip.
During the beginning of the night I had some problems on my first image, but at this point everything was solved and working like a charm with my super light gear (Canon 85 f/1.8 and Canon 80D); I used a star mask filter to nail the focus (not easy on the 85mm) and closed the lens to f/4 to avoid CA.
Nice surprise, also the faint tail of stars seems a little bit visible; great night under a wonderful SMQ 21.73 dark sky.
Thanks for watching!
