Description

Observed on 28 April 2022 at the Texas Star Party with a 22” Obsession UC Dobsonian. 

This globular cluster is not very bright, is irregularly shaped, and is not concentrated. From the DSS image it appears I was only viewing the core. NGC 4147 is a relatively small and relatively isolated GC.

Type: Far Halo Globular
Position w.r.t. core of galaxy: Directly above the MW
