Description

This was my first attempt at the Iris Nebula, using a simple star tracker and small refractor from Bortle 6 skies. The Iris Nebula is one of many nebulae in the night sky with a common name associated with a flower. The Iris Nebula is located 1,400 lightyears away in the Cepheus constellation. This floral cloud of cosmic dust and gas is a reflection nebula, meaning it glows due to the scattering of the light from its central star.
