Description

This is an  HSO-RGB image of the southern border of the Soul nebula (Sh2-99 or Westerhout 5).  IC1848 is the large cluster above center. I've been into close-ups of large emission nebula lately, especially in Cassiopeia.  The soul nebula has 2 or 3 of these wild regions.

The wall of hydrogen emission resides along the southern edge of the Soul Nebula.  Also cataloged as Westerhout 5 (a strong X-ray source) and Sh2-199.  The region contains several small open clusters.

Narrowband data were color mapped with Ha=red; OIII= blue, and SII green.  LRGB data used for stars
