Description

2nd run on the most famous supernova remnant in the sky, the Crab Nebula, and first entry in the Messier Catalog. In reality this was a filler job started with the MN200 and finished with SPX300. It proved useful, however, in updating the colour aspect of the SNR, with the much needed addition of the OIII line which was visibly lacking in my previous iteration some 13 years before. It also proved a useful test-bed for analysing the performance of RC's BlurXterminator, which can be seen comparing the orginal version with the modified one. One obvious shortfall is that the plug-in module strongly alters the colour rendition of the stars, shifting them significantly toward the blue end (partially recovered by rebalancing the stars separately from the nebula).
