Description

This image was originally intended as a simple test to try out a new power solution for the mount while also scratching the imaging itch after a few weeks of rain. Given that there was a full moon to contend with, the expectations for this target were not very high. However, when the first 5 minute sub-exposure loaded in and the guide graph flatlined, any idea that this was a test shot vanished.

Also, the collimation was especially dialed in before shooting so that when processing this image, the sharp stars could be cleanly removed with a starnet++ run that was integrated into the final image. However, this recombination step still presents a struggle, the stars on this image reflect this. Any comments with advice on how to improve the starless recombination step of the processing workflow would be greatly appreciated!
