Description

The Horsehead (Barnard 33) and Flame (NGC 2024) Nebulas taken on a night plagued by high clouds. My plan had been 15 each of 120s RGB, and 15x300s Lum, rotating through each filter. During the 14th iteration, the target moved behind trees. The forecast was for high clouds, but I hadn't noticed any... until the next day when I blinked in Pixinsight which revealed the clouds dominated the night. I discarded a lot of frames, but stacked anyway to see what I could get. I'm pleased with the result, given the lack of data. The QHY600 rocks!.

I believe I've eliminated the cause of those funky arcs that plagued my previous captures by flocking the inside of my OAG adapter w/ Protostar FlockBoard light trap. Since the adapter is conical, I had to make a template using https://www.templatemaker.nl/en/cone/; worked out beautifully.

Quick-n-dirty processing w/ PixInsight:
1. WBPP script
2. Skipped DBE, since I had no gradiants to speak of
3. Linear fit
4. Channel Combination -> RGB
5. RGB PhotometricColorCalibration
6. RGB MaskedStretch
7. Lum MaskedStretch
8. LRGBCombination (Lightness 0.4; Saturation 0.5)
