I started AP in 2017, using a Canon T3i DSLR and a iOptron Skytracker Pro with a ball head on a tripod. In March 2019, I plunged in and shifted to imaging with a stock full frame DSLR and a 9.25" SCT. Funny, I've always wanted to do planetary phtography, but it's 2022 and I have yet to do any! For DSOs, the large aperature is less forgiving than if I had chosen a wider field, but with an OAG, large sensor guide camera, and a stable mount, my guiding has been fine. This year I went all in and started mono imaging with a dedicated FF astrocam and LRGB filters; NB to follow :-)
Clear moonless skies and scheduling have kept me from getting out as much as I'd like, but hey, when I retire...
Cheers; clear skies!
