Description

The Giant Squid Nebula OU4 in Cepheus was discovered in June 2011 by the amateur astronomer Nicolas Outters. It is a very faint planetary nebula, glowing blue-green from doubly ionised oxygen gas driven by HR8119, a triple system of hot, massive stars in its center. The giant Squid Nebula, nearly 50 light-years across, stands out against the red glow of the even larger HII emission nebula Sh2-129, known as Flying Bat nebula.

Oiii and Ha lights have been produced placing L-Ultimate filter in series with Baader Blue and Red filters respectively, for a total 50 hrs approx (Oiii/Ha=3:1). Finally, 2 hrs RGB for the starfield
