Description

I learned a rather interesting observation while photographing this beautiful deep sky object. Even though IC63 is a reflection nebula, and therefore not suitable for imaging with narrow-band filters, I achieved better results with my data on this using a duo band filter than I did with an ordinary UV/IR cut filter in broadband color. The difference in nebulosity present in a single subframe from using the Optolong L-Enhance is striking compared to that of full color subframe.

I will admit, perhaps I am misinterpreting the concept of narrow band astro imaging, therefore the above observation isn't entirely accurate.

In my equipment circumstance I am using a OSC camera with a duo band filter, therefore this is not truly mono narrowband spectra imaging.

3 hours of data on this was meerly just to get nice looking stars that had full color.
