Description

I had started this imaging project during the February new moon, mostly because I wanted to see how stable the focus point of the AT65EDQ is with falling temperature (spoiler: it is not), and if I could get away with not having a temperature-compensating motorized focuser (spoiler: I can’t), but it got delayed by unexpected tracking problems that I finally nailed down and fixed. Last night turned out to be clear and free from moonlight, so I collected three hours of data, which when added to the initial two and a half hours make for a reasonably smooth image. At least if one takes the Bortle 7 sky into account.
