Description

@Maurice Toet 's image of TMC-1 caught my attention several weeks ago. His image  mosaic is as good as any I have seen rendered on astrobin and really captured my imagination. I wanted to see what the RASA 8 on single component of Barnard 18 could render with a night or two of imaging.

Barnard 18 is a large cloud 450 light years from earth within the overall Taurus Molecular Cloud. To my eye, it looks like yet another flying bat in space. It is punctuated by several HH region with new star formation actively occurring.  Several T Tauri stars have been identified and are under current study within the cloud. HH 319 A, B, S are located just to left of center of the picture and are the most striking regions to me in the entire image.
