Description

This is a well known and frequently imaged galaxy in Pegasus. It is a highly inclined spiral of the multi-arm type. It features a large, bright core and its spiral structure is well defined with prominent dust lanes visible against the core and in the near spiral arm. Several small, bright galaxies are in the same field but it is presumed that they are in the background as their radial velocities are quite high (about 6500 km/s vs 1030km/s for NGC7331)
Angular diameter: 10.5'x3.7'
Distance: 46 mly.
Diameter: 140000 ly.
