Description

NGC4565 is a barred spiral in the constellation of Coma Berenices, and with a visual magnitude of about 9.6, it is easily visible in a medium size telescope such as a 6" reflectory. NGC 4565 got its name the Needle Galaxy due to its elongated shape, owing to it being almost entirely side-facing, which also gives its signature dust lane crossing the galaxy. The dataset was acquired by @blackrig with the homemade 10" reflectory, a very high quality 11.5 hours of RGB gives very fine details of the color and luminance.
