Description

This object is a 1.8 minute diameter planetary nebula located in the constellation of Aquila, 3000 light-years from Earth. In my narrowband image above, the bluish star at the center of the nebula that created the planetary nebula is barely visible. This star is much more apparent in the RGB image, which is not included here. The bubble is about 2 light years in diameter. This is a bi-color nebula image because there was little SII signal to capture.

It is believed that we are looking almost directly down the polar axis of this bipolar, two lobe nebula. The lobes are seeing some breakout of hydrogen gas.

This object is nicknamed the snow globe nebula. I love snow globes, but I have mixed feelings about this nickname.
