Description

The Dolphin Head Nebula, also known as SH2-308, is a bubble-like nebula located in the constellation Canis Major. It surrounds a Wolf-Rayet star called EZ Canis Majoris. This star is in the brief, pre-supernova phase of its stellar evolution. The nebula is formed by the stellar wind blowing from the Wolf-Rayet star, creating a bubble-like structure. It is an emission nebula, meaning it emits light as a result of ionized gas.
