Description

I went back to this data now that I'm using Pixinsight especially given the way one can manage the Ha data using PixelMath. I tried Bill Blansham's utility but for some reason I couldn't get it to work, user error I'm sure. So I went back to creating my own Ha continuum layer and blending it in PS. I also used BlurExterminator and noise Exterminator along with DBE and PCC. Anyway the combination of PI and PS made a big difference for me. The one thing I didn't like were the stars from the BlurExterminator so I ended up blending those with the original stars.

This was taken with a tandem rig FLT132 and ASI 6200 MM Luminance and Ha and the FLT91 and ASI 2600 RGB and Ha. I collected 35 mins each of R, G and B at a dark site along with 100 mins of Luminance. That was blended with 380 mins of Luminance, 150 mins each of RGB and 300 mins of Ha from the back yard. Total exposure time of 17 hours of exposure. I included the full frame image and a 100% crop of the galaxie.
