Description

The Clamshell Nebula, Sh2-119, is a large emission nebulae in the constellation Cygnus that lies approximately 2200 light years away. The bright star at the center is 68 Cygni is a 5th magnitude star that is ionizing the surrounding gas. There are also some Bok globules on the upper left portion of the nebula.  I modeled two different PixelMath blend formulas and landed on this one - I like the hint of green which I feel adds a unique depth to the image and really brings out the golden highlights of the Sii data.
