While I have some good weather, I wanted to try for the Crescent and Soap Bubble Nebulae. With my C11 v4 HyperStar imaging train, I was able to get 5 hours of data. I created a master, sutocrop drizzle file using WBPP in Pixinsight. The master went through my usual workflow: DBE, SCNR, SPCC, BX NX, and SX. GHS was used to stretch the starless image and GAME gradient edge mask was used to enhance the Soap Bubble. Final treatment with Histogram and Curves for black point and saturation was then used to complete processing of the starless image. Stars were linear stretched using Histogram, and then Curves for saturation. Pixel Math was used to recombine the starless and stars images into a single image for further processing in Adobe Photoshop. In Photoshop, the image was converted to a smart object and then completed using Camera Raw.

Description: With the release of the new AI for BlurXterminator, I have been re-working the processing of images I have already taken. I decided to give the Crescent a try. GAME script was used to create a gradient mask to bring up the Soap Bubble over background. Dynamic crop brings out more detail from the wide field view.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
