Description

We ventured up onto a hill in preparation to photograph the Milky Way rising over the mountains. As we awaited for dark skies, my partner-in-crazy-photography-adventures asked what I thought about this weird moving cloud above us. We stared for a while, and finally pointed a camera up at it, and it was a picket fence directly above us. The next thing we knew a proton arc formed starting to the west, and stretching overhead towards the east. Absolutely mind blowing. This is looking east, you can see the faint glow the the Milky Way rising on the LHS just above the hills.
