Description

Has been an extremely challenging image. Took me few weeks for processing, by letting the eyes to decompress and understand the proper balances. I´ ve used some few new processing techniques and I hope you like it.

Exposure and channels:

. L - 10x600"
. R - 12x600"
. G - 13x600"
. B - 20x600"
Taken from RT facility;

/ REVISION B | Herbig-Haro Objects /

In the REVISION B (cropped) I´ ve plotted seven Herbig-Haro objects found in the nebula´ s center region. HH objects play a very important role in the star formation process.

In a nutshel, the Herbig-Haro objects were determinated to be shockfronts of expelled jets from protostars interacting with the interstelar medium. They´ re associated with the formation process of newborn stars.

In this protostar formation fase some of the accreting material is ejected out along the star's axis of rotation in two jets of partially ionised gas. This particles  bipolar outflow are responsible to reduce the conservation of angular momentum, allowing the acreted material to clump together. Otherwise, without this angular momentum reduction, is thought that stars would only be able to maintain (comparatively) 5% of solar masses, shredding itself due to high rotational velocities.

The streams of ionized gas then collide with the clouds of gas and dust in the interstelar medium, compressing it and making it glow.

It´ s so exciting that although HH objects are emitting on the infrared, they´ re also emitting in the optical light.

( This small text aims to give a brief explanation on HH objects. All the processes are much, much more complex. I encourage you to research more about those marvelous objects! There´ re some gorgeous timelapses taken from Hubble showing the jet´ s movements. )
