Description

I just love the winter part of the Milky way. Regions rich with hydrogen and landscapes covered in snow can be a great recipe for a nice image. I can't wait for more snow and Orion's company in the sky.

I usually run a pano setup with counterweight, but that night my tracking was just terrible, so I decided to go for a ballhead adapter, which carried Alyn Wallace's V platform and pano head. I did re-level at the beginning of a new row instead after each image or two and I was worried that the pano wont stich. Well, I got lucky this time.
High above the bed of the Tolminka River, there is a wooden sacred place, the Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca, which bears the European Heritage label. The church celebrates the fallen Austro-Hungarian defenders of the Isonzo Front battlefield (1915–1917).
As the most beautiful World War I memorial in the area of the Republic of Slovenia, it was placed on the list of particularly important European historical and cultural heritage back in 2007 and received the European Heritage label in 2018.
