Description

The Soul Nebula (aka IC 1848, Sh2-199 or Westerhout 5) is a large emission nebula around 7,500 ly away in the constellation Cassiopeia . It's relatively bright with an absolute magnitude of +6.5 and estimated to be around 1 million years old.

Captured from my backyard in Dublin, Ireland using my FSQ-85 with a 0.73 reducer using an ASI1600 and Chroma Ha, OIII and SII filters.

The reducer is a new addition and I've not yet got the backfocus spot on so stars are a little elongated in the corners.
