Description

Images from 2 nights, 8th and 9th of April. Full Moon was the 6th April. In the past I would image narrowband around full moon, but with my new OSC camera this wasn't an option. What to do? The forecast was completely clear both nights so too good to waste. Centaurus A was ideally placed for a full nights imaging, transiting just after midnight, and maybe it was bright enough to work with so much moonlight. Unfortunately on the 8th it was only about 20 degrees from the moon so I didn't expect much. This night did have a very strong gradient across the frame but the second night was better and Local Normalization in WBPP handled this remarkably well. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome, and can just see the blue relativistic jet around 8 o'clock but no trace of the red jet further out.
