Description

Mid August and I've finally been able to complete an image. This hasn't been the best summer for imaging in the Mid-Atlantic.
I saw this colorful pair of stars in another image and knew I wanted to capture them myself. I framed them vertically... quietly overlooking the mayhem inside of Cygnus. Part of that mayhem is SNR G82-2+5.3, an ancient supernova remnant seen here at the bottom in OIII.
Also in the image, upper right, is StDr 139 / Skarpen's nebula, a recent discovery from Astrobin members Xavier Strottner and Marcel Drechsler.
This image is HOO, with SII layered on the Ha for some extra contrast. I wish I'd have rotated the framing just a bit to center the remnant, but I still like it.  Hope you do too

CS (please!)
