Description

NGC 7380 is an open cluster of stars in the constellation Cepheus. It was discovered in 1787 by Caroline Herschel in 1787. The cluster is surrounded by emission nebulosity that is commonly referred to as the Wizard Nebula.

The nebula is very difficult to view visually, as it usually requires very dark skies and an O-III filter. It is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way, about 8,500 light-years from Earth. What I was really surprised about was the amount of Sii in and around the Wizard Nebula.

This final night at the dark site I added an additional 3 hours and 40 minutes of each Ha and Sii. This gave me a total of just under 23 hours of data.
